Bishop Michael’s Bishops Appeal Collection –
During the last five years Bishop Michael
has embarked on novel ways of raising funds for those in need in other parts of the world. Well, he is off on his travels around the diocese again! This timethe project is “Educate for Life” and it seeks to build schools etc in Burundi & Rwanda (Africa) He will visit the parish on Saturday, 13th October @ 4.30pm – The venue will be St Paul’s Church, Cahir.

Bishop Michael’s Visit for Holy Week 2012 –
Fethard & Clonmel on Sunday, 1st April – Palm Sunday
Old St Mary’s, Clonmel on Monday, 2nd April @ 8.00pm - “Judas & Me”
St Paul’s, Cahir on Tuesday, 3rd April @ 8.00pm – “Judas the Treasurer”
Holy Trinity, Fethard, on Wednesday, 4th April @ 8.00pm – “St Judas?”
Old St Mary’s, Clonmel on Thursday, 5th April @ 8.00pm – “Dying Judas”
Good Friday – Old St Mary’s, Clonmel @ 12noon – as last year you may come and stay awhile
or for all of the “Words of the Cross”
St Paul’s, Cahir – Evensong @ 8.00pm – “Judas in my Mirror”
The way in which this year’s Holy Week is constructed means that attendance on a number of night is advisable if you want to get the benefit of the Bishop’s interesting subject for hte week. Bishop michael has written a book, unpublished, on Judas and he will be sharing his thoughts on this “interesting” member of Jesus’ close group of followers.

Organ Marathon –
Our bishop has a new Project to raise funds for charity. The
beneficiaries of his latest “scheme” receive their donations from an Organ Marathon in which he will play “Come Ye Thankful People Come” in every church in the diocese between 27th August and 13th September. He expects to find some people present when he arrives at each church to sing along with him!!!
The beneficiaries of his efforts will be Bishops Appeal and USPG (to share40%), Protestant Aid (40%) and the Rev Paul Mooney’s (former Rector of New Ross) Outreach Initiative to Anglicans in Seoul, South Korea (20%).
To raise funds we will give all our Collections on Sunday, 23rd August 2009 to this project.
